There is an oil called Solar Oil that is made with over 20 different types of oils and you can buy it in places like Trade Secret or places that do nails. Order it online or from a place that sells OPI and other professional products. Rub this into your nails twice a day, even over your nail color. Remember to take your polish off once a week at the very least and use non-acetone nail polish remover! Don't subject your nails to alot of water activities such as handwashing excessively or washing dishes without gloves.
And ask your Dr. if you can take a skin, nail, and hair vitamin from GNC, Walmart, etc..it helps. Make sure to use nail strengthener too! Good luck and take care of the cuticles...which the Solar oil takes care of too.

I've heard some of my friends talk about a strengthening polish thingy. I'm not very clued up on nails, so this might sound vague. They say that this polish contains tiny hairs which help strengthen the nails by bounding together. I do not know if it is that much of a help from personal use, but they seem to live by it. Good luck finding out some more information!

Nail polishes and even some nail hardeners have chemicals in them that dry out the nail therefore making them break, peel or crack easily. Rubbing slighly warmed up olive oil on your nails and cuticles each night (and wearing light white cotton gloves, sold in most beauty departments) helps better than anything else I have ever tried. Doesn't cost much either!!!

There are clear polishs out there that are hard a rock and keep your nails from breaking. Also keeping mine at a reasonable length keeps them strong.

you need vitamin E. you can take vitamin E tablets in your diet, which will also help your hair and skin. You can pierce a pinhole through the Vitamin E tablet and after soaking your nails a bit in water, you can squeeze the vitamin E on your nails. After about 10 minutes you can rub it into the rest your your hand or rinse off the oiliness. But vitamin E is the key here. It makes nails and hair stronger.

it depends on how long you want them. if you have long nails that are prone to breaking easily then it might be better if you keep them shorter than normal. and nail polish wont work, its too thin. have you tried the nail strengtheners that are like nail polish? it just helps you nails grow stronger.

I really like Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle that you can find at most drug stores. It has soy protein to keep nails strong but not brittle, keratin to protect against tearing, and collagen to stimulate growth. It has repaired my nails from acrylics. I still get my nails done, but I do gel rather than acrylic and it seems to be a lot less damaging.

Keeping polish on them is good. Make sure you file the edges smooth, filing in one direction. And always treat your nails as though the polish is wet. And don't ever use them as tools. Good luck.

actually i have the same problem they always chip and are weak Right now I have glue on nails but they ruin your nails when they fall off. I would get them professionally done if you have the money. If not use the glue on's and be careful that they don't get ripped off.

Get the nailpolish that thickens them, putting oil on them and keeping them healthy. Filing makes nails break easier, just use the nailclippers. you might try cutting them and then letting them start fresh and grow out long with no breaks and cracks
