Now before this gets all turned around don't call me a racist, or anything of the sort... I think that there are just as many bad white people as there are any other race... but my question is this...

What would happen if there was a "White Entertainment Television"...

What would happen if we had a White history month?

Or like Athletic organizations that only allow in white people?? I am just curious what would happen

I KNOW that not all people in a race are the same way... but I was listening to a black lady having a conversation and she called some big guy, little. A Mexican said why you call him little that would be like me calling you white... and she said oh you better not do that!

If I would have said that she would have turned me in...

Just curious... PLEASE understand I am not racist... I just wonder why some people feel as if its ok to bash white people...

BET, Black History Month, and The ***** Baseball League were all born out of necessity. I don't know how old you are, but there was a time that Black people were not represented on television. There was a time when History did not tell our story. There was a time when we were not allowed to participate in professional sports.

Having pride in one's ethnicity, or culture is not about putting anyone down. BET is not on the air to make you feel bad about being White. It's original purpose was for Blacks to turn on the television and having something that we could relate to. I am sure there are ample stations on the air that could qualify as White Entertainment Television, they just are not named that.

As far as White History Month... well I personally don't like the idea of Black History Month. I think History should just tell the whole story. Maybe there would be a better understanding of why race relations in this country, and world even, are what they are.

I don't know much about sports, but if you were referring to ***** Baseball League, the above is explanation enough.

If you look over the history of the US, white males have had all the power and privilege up until recently. There is still not an equal distribution of power or resources, and there is still a lot of discrimination, even if it is not as visible. There is going to be some racial tension until there is a more equitable split of power and resources. In sociology, a group is considered a minority group if it does not have equal power. In the US, this would be everyone who is not a white male. Affirmative action (like scholarships for minorities) is supposed to help people bridge the gap. If you look at the statistics, white women are the ones who have benefited most from affirmative action.

because white people are not discriminated against. White people have not had a history of oppression. There doesn't need to be a white entertainment television. Turn on the TV -- most people are white. Many show now hae atoken black person or maybe a Hispanic or maybe, just maybe, an Asian (often a Korean posing as Japanese person or vis versa).

Does it really make you feel bad? Do you really think they look down on YOU or think that you are somehow inferior because you are white? Do people cross the street when they see you coming? We still hold most of the power in the country. The bashing doesn't hurt us at all.

Of course it's not ok to bash at white people or at people of any particular race for that matter, if they do so, it's because they're ignorants. About the TV network and the organizations only for white people, they wouldn't make any sense, the ones that are only for black or Spanish people were created to represent minorities (at least at the beginning), whites are not a minority.

According to some everything is white, why else do they keep yelling or talking about it. Perhaps they have no self esteem or they want someone to take care of them or their problems.
In either case i say BULLS@#T.
They should open their eyes and see the good, the bad,and the ugly like other people, and then start looking at all the white shows and think they are just as stupid, funny,or dumb as all the black shows.

All Hell would break loose.
Seems that people just used to want equailty in the schools, jobs & homes...now people want favoritism. Other races bash the whites because they CAN...and no organization is going to stand up and be outraged for them.
Just about every holiday & custom we grew up with is under scrutiny, and is offensive to someone.
We change our holiday wordings (Happy Holiday vs Merry Christmas) yet we have to adapt & celebrate every other custom.
We need to accept the differences, and respect them...not try to eliminate the ones we don't like.
Racism goes in all directions. It's pretty dam sad.

You're right. There are college scholarships that are for blacks only. If we had one for only white people we would be hung from the nearest tree with a white hood over our head. I never owned one nor do i think slavery is ever right. The color of ones skin should not determine the worthiness of a person. We are all worthy of what ever we dream.

I think that there's some racism in every race and people who have been victims of it carry some resentments (can't blame them for that) and we all just have to try so hard to learn to get along. Forgiveness is the first step to getting along and love is the second.

Welcome to the new world of double standards.Political correctness is white guilt for past transgressions.Until all races or expected to live up to the same ideals, racism will always have a hold in society.Just remember racism is rooted in ignorance, and whenever you hear a comment like that, understand the limited mental capabilities of the person who made it.

Any expression of white pride in any form is considered racist in the nation of the perpetually offended and politically correct.
