It is possible, but not common. The mind is a powerful thing and can really aid in the healing process. However, our subconscious mind is really a strong influence and we have little control over it. This is why it takes so long for affirmations to work. Even if your conscious mind is saying something positive, like "I am strong and healthy", we have beliefs in our subconscious that play stuff like "my family has bad genes" on a continuous loop. It is possible to clear out these negative thought patterns, but it takes time. We all have them and we may have been so young when we acquired them that we don't realize they are there. If a person had a really clear subconscious it would be possible, but I am afraid that those people are extremely rare if not non-existent. You might look into Hado and Ho'oponopono. It is really fascinating.

I disagree with anyone who'd answer with an unqualified "No."

Sometimes the mind CAN aid in the healing and recovery process. Even logically minded doctors would agree to this. Visualization is a strong motivator in cancer patients. And people at ALL levels in the medical field can tell you stories of people who appear to have failed or recovered as a result of a "will to live."

However, if I break a leg, I'm not going to wait around for my "mind" to start knitting bones. A doctor is going to set if, if I have anything say about it. Gunshot, heart attack, appendicitis, hell, ingrown toenail are all good reasons to see a doctor.

Positive thoughts in our minds and a good attitude promote an environment more conducive to healing but it is just one part of the puzzle. So, no, not with our minds only.

I dont know about healing yourself but the mind plays a big part. The will to live and a fighting attitude is amazing.

No. People are both with a strong sense of self preservation. If mindpower could heal cancer, heart failure, or gunshot wounds not many people would be dead. Not many people want to die.

Yes, I do believe in this possibility yet I will have to say that in order for one to achieve this there must be alot of "practice" involved.
