if its blue smoke then you are burning to much oil and the mixture is too rich
i would recommend adjusting your carburetor or throttle body
that's how i got my 78 thunder-bird landau to quit after repairing my 351 winsor v8

If smoke is blue you are burning oil.
It can be for two reason, normally are the third ring in the piston this ring are for swipe the oil in the cylinder but can be going oil to the combustion across of the valve guide (is a minor problem), how to check it? easy
if u give gas and keep your engine in 3000 rpm during 1 minute and u still are seen oil is the rings no the valve guide, when is the valve guide, when u left the car in ralenti (around 850 rpm) 2 minutes and you push gas two or three times continuously you will see too much smoke but if u keep gas like i told the smoke go
If is guide valve u can put special retainers and around 40000 miles more

Blue smoke is a sign of oil burning. If you just replaced your intake then it is improperly installed! Chevys are tempermental putting on intakes. Has to be done right. If you know for sure you did it right then you have ring problems that may have just coincidentally appeared at the same time. Definitely oil burning!
Blue is oil, black is running rich, and white is coolant!

Did you have the heads off? you're sucking oil into the intake somewhere. Bad head gasket, worn intake valves/stems/ worn rings, using 50 weight because somebody thinks they're smarter than the guy who wrote the book...all good candidates.
