You are right. With respect to the outcome of our electoral system, there should not be even the slightest possibility of an appearance of improprioty. Given the fact that these paper less voting machines create an appearance of improprioty, I have to wonder: Are Americans once again suffering the injustice of taxation without representation? Remember this was one of the chief compliants against the British Monarchy that lead to the American Revolutionary war.

Not sure why some Replublcians are against the paper copies, but I would think it is because if you are going to trust computers, you need to trust computers.
I personally wonder why Democrats are against a system that can ensure a fair electoral system. They are against ID cards at polling places. Explain that one, and you can get a stuffed animal from the middle shelf.

Why would the democrats not want a national ID card for all voters? That sure gives am appearance of cheating. I guess, to answer your question-the republicans do not care what the appearance is. They could care less what the other nations of the world think, or you liberals either.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I agree the elections should be water tight.
