Actually they can wear what they want as far as cleats or other stuff before the first game of the season. Which mean once you have a uniform you are not allowed to change it. Unless the team changes it. Think about how tack it would be if a member of the Steelers was wearing orange and black cleats. On the other hand, was a member of the Redskins was wearing a blue shirt. It keeps everyone in a standard color and makes it easier for refs a fans to tell who is who. These guys are getting paid Millions of dollars to play you have a dress code at work why not them.

"A rule instituted in 2006 prohibits NFL players from celebrating in the end zone by 'going to the ground to celebrate a touchdown or using the ball as a prop.'" So, someone made an idiotic rule, and then someone got penalized for breaking it. End of the world? Must be. Addendum: "After picking off a Matt Schaub [Houston Texans' quarterback] pass in the end zone, Oakland Raiders' cornerback Chris Johnson celebrated by dropping to his knees and raising his arms in triumph. He was instantly flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for excessive celebration." Okay, I should mention that I despise football and couldn't care less about anything to do with it, but... "excessive celebration"? What kind of lame rule is this? If the guy wants to stick sparklers up his nose and run around naked, who gives a soaring vermin's buttocks? Why would they penalize that? Stupid.

No Fun League. Then again they are wearing uniforms and they do have to be uniform. You don't see policemen or firemen or even the UPS guy jazzing up theri unis. Plus it is a team sport.

I mean, you want "individualism" in psorts fashion, follow individual sports.

its called a uniform. It makes them look sharp and helps differentiate between teams. Even when your rushing you may only get a glance at the persons sock in front of oyu so you need to know whether hes blocking for you or is about to lay you out.

The NFL thrives on tradition. As the most popular sport in America, they carefully manage their image. Having players do what they want is no different in the NFL than it is in most companies. If you want to work here, you have to conform to our desired image.

it's called a uniform. that means everything needs to be the same for everyone on the team. obviously they believe in individualism if they let those retards do a dance after every single play.

Simply, it is a team sport. If clothing wasn't regulated those guys would look like a bunch of hoodlums.
