look up a news story from like 1989. i had some friends to die in a car accident and i was wondering how i can look up the news story from the paper without having to spend any money.

Go to the website version of the newspaper and look it up there in the search function. If its in the newspaper morgue from that paper, and it should be, it should be available on line.

looking up the online edition of the newspaper in the archieves sections wud be 1 way. however, if the particular year's paper have not been put up online, u can go to the newspaper section of the nearest public library. most of them wud have the paper scanned and put in the microfilms archieve section.
this wud also be available in the archieve section of the newspaper office too.

Go to the local library and look on the microphish for the newspaper it was in.
