In speech, I have trouble with words containing more than a single syllable and a trailing consonant.

I rely more of a stream of expletives to drive people away shrieking with their hands clamped over their ears.

No, but I certainly think those words to myself. Even in trouble, I tend to bite my tongue to keep from saying something that might really hurt someone. I will admit to running commentary in my mind though, but doesn't everyone?

walk away, leaving them to figure out what I said.

No. If you do not know how to pronounce a word, or the meaning of a word, or the context to use the word...then you should not use the word. If you do so, you will look stupid!
