it's based off a fictional band that was on new order's music video "crystal." just like how save ferris was based off of a scene if ferris bueler's day off.

There are two main concerning how the Killers got their name.
1) The name "The Killers" is actually in reference to a short story written by Ernest Hemingway and later made into three seperate films (the 1946 Siodmak, the 1958 Tarkovsky version and the 1964 Siegel version which was widely released starring Lee Marvin, Angie Dickinson, and Ronald Reagan).
2) "The band came up with the name "The Killers" from a New Order video titled "Crystal." It was featured on the bass drum of a fictional band in the song's video.[3]"

The killers are named after a fictional group from a New Order video from the 1980's (you know, back when the actually played Music on MTV.)

the killers is just their band name they dont really sing about killing just listen to their music and look up there lyrics that should tell u that they dont sing about killing
