I'm an intermediate player who has used size 2 1/2 for a while, and I just started size 3. I'm wondering about the different brands of reeds and which ones help produce smoother sound, which ones are easier to play on, etc. Any recommendations?

I like Van Dorin reeds...but I haven't played in years so....maybe there are some new brands that are better.

First of all I have no idea what this moron is speaking approximately how Rico Reeds are higher than Vandorens...ANYWAY. I suppose the concern is your embouchure, now not the reed or your saxophone. Keep the corners of your mouth tight and the lips gentle, but taut alongside your enamel. You are without doubt spitting a bit of to a lot into your tool, that's supplying you with the gurgly noise. Try to tighten up your embouchure and notice the way it works.
