It's a great system and were I younger I would study to be a Montessori teacher and start a Montessori school. Because of what it gives the children I think it does foster passion, and they don't have to worry about fulfilling an increasing number of unfillable government requirements so they can teach--really teach the kids.

My child is in montessory. Overall, I think the system seems to inspire them. The teachers seem motivated and into their teaching. When I talk with them I sense they're into their work and are dedicated to the kids. That's way more than I can say about what I saw at the public school.
