Space scientist because I'd be reaching for the stars instead of spewing out depressing news.

Given you asked this under "Media...." my guess is you think most people would want to be a news anchor. But think about it.
News anchors have regular, but often weird hours (the ten o'clock or six AM news)...space scientists typically work their own hours (if on a project) or set hours (like 9 to 5), depending on who the scientist is working for.
Space scientists (with a PhD and experience) can earn six figure incomes (I know, I was one and earned over $100K per year just before I retired). News anchors don't earn that kind of money until they get on the bigger stations or networks.
Space scientists are making the news, rather than just reporting it.
Space scientists are highly regarded by the public; news anchors, not so much. Check this out:

As you can see from above, 77% of the respondents would trust a Scientist and only 44% would trust a newscaster. (Sorry about the scrunched numbers, that's a problem with Answers.)
