I'm having a Halloween party with a bunch of 20somethings (maybe 50 people). How much alcohol should I intend on buying, and how much should I expect people to bring? Are there any specific Halloweeny drinks I should have?

This is the punch I'm making:
2 2-liter bottles of strawberry soda
1 can of condensed orange juice
1 cup of rum

You can add dry ice to whatever you're serving so it will produce vapor and keep the drinks cold.

This is a bit juvenile, but fun nonetheless: fill a rubber glove with water and green food coloring and make a big ice cube out of it to put in the punch as well.

If you're having 50 people, I would suggest a BYOB party. Otherwise it's going to cost you a fortune.
However, I'm planning on making orange and purple jello shots (some with rum, some with vodka), and possibly a large bowl of punch (with fun floaty things...like halloween candy) for my Halloween party. I would think a 26 oz bottle of vodka, 26oz bottle of rum, and a small bottle of whatever you want to put into the punch would be sufficient.
That way you look like a thoughtful host, but you didn't break your bank account to do it!

I don't know about the alcohol part but take some wine glasses and set them out. Take a plate and put corn syrup and red food coloring in it, mix it and take the wine glasses and dip it in it. Set them up straight and watch the corn syrup drip. Let it dry then drink alcohol in them while you can lick off the corn syrup. It's awesome because it looks like blood dripping off the side of the glass.
