I break 2 to 3 vacuums a year. I sew in 3 different rooms in house and i have threads everywhere. I bought a push restaurant type of broom to pick up most threads but there is still a lot left. The threads tangle on the brush rollers of vacuum. I clean these twice every time i use it but it will eventually freeze up and i burn up another motor. I now buy very cheap models since i break them. Any ideas on models or techniques on cleaning brush rollers of threads and dog hair?

Use a shop vac. They are heavy duty. They do not have that type of brush. The motor will hold up better too, with the hair and thread.

I would personnally reccomend the SEBO X-4 upright vacuum. This particular has a brushroll that can be removed for cleaning by pressing a button and then sliding it out the end, no tools. This model also has a brushroll clutch that slips instead of breaking belts, and when it starts to slip the vacuum shuts itself off and turns on an indicator.
The SEBO sells for around $699.00 and if that is out of your price range, then you should probably consider one of the Simplicity or Riccar Models with a Metal Brushroll.
