Yes a Long Long way away. In todays Daily Mail there is an Article on Page 7 showing that Aisha Azmi has connection with the Mosque used by the Ringleader of the terrorist bomber of July 7th which created Death and Mayhem in London . Her Attitude throughout her Interview on the Television News , was full of Arrogance and Total Disregard for our Customs here in the U K . This is typical of the Muslim,s attitude towards us "Our Way - or - No Way" the Veil should be outlawed in Schools and Similar situations . but additionally it is also very clear that over the last 20 years or more , the Radical Muslims have and are taking an ever increasingly Dangerous attitude to the Indigenous Population of the United Kingdom , Recruiting Terrorist Bombers and Preaching Death and Destruction to us On our Streets and behind the closed doors of thier Mosques and other so called Religious and Educational Centres ,Continually Infiltrating and Infesting our Society ,Increasing their Demands , In our Parliament , Town Halls and our Civic Institutions I,m sure we all know "Modest and Peacefull" Muslims , but their Evil , Power Mad , so called Religious Leaders , are , and will continue to bring pressure to bear on the Muslim Community, this is not about the "Veil" -- the issue is far greater than that -- The truth is Great Britain is in great Danger from these Radical Muslims , make no mistake the Roots are Very Deep and are spread all over our Country , We are unfortunately Cursed with a Government which has turned on it,s own people and is in effect also a Dangerous Liability ... It is now very late in the Day but we must put a STOP to a fast deteriorating situation

First of all, i think the woman said that she wore her veil mostly when men were around, and removed it when they were not, which would make the whole those-poor-kids-they-actually-need-to-see-their-teacher's-face to-feel-secure busniess much smaller then it appears to be.
Now: did anyone ask themselevs those questions:
1) Did the kids actually complain about their teacher wearing a veil?
The teacher is here for the kids, right? so logically, it should have been THEIR decision whether or not they don't want her to wear a viel because they don't feel at ease or anything.
2)Why is the woman wearing this veil?
To show off? that wouldn't be very sharp, would it?
To obey divine orders? veils are not compulsory in Islam?
Did it never occur to anyone that maybe muslim women wear veils for the exact same reasons as some women get face-lifts or wear layers of makeup ? It's not all about people wanting to impose their religion or show it to the world exageratedly--it's about deep personal beliefs and/or simple HUMAN feelings. They probably would not admit it, but many women who wera veils actually do so because they think themselves ugly. Some wear it because they feel safe, and you know what: did you ever hear a man throw obscene comments at a veiled woman? No. People may hate them, think they're all fussy and petty, but they have some respect. Which cannot be said about most of us European or american women.
All in all: i think that the woman's fight should be concluded by the children she was teaching: if they were scared of her, or didn't feel comfrtable when she wore her veil, then i think that she should definitely leave. on the contrary, she should not even oppose any resistance or complain at all.
IF however, the kiddies don't have a problem with the whole matter and it's only because her superiors were nothing but racist pigs, then she should go on fighting till she WINS.
Because this world may be ugly, but we, non-muslims, christians, muslims and all the others alike, should not let it get even uglier. Let us have some respect for our fellow humans, whatever colour or religion they are, for God's sake. Is it all worth the trouble? no. Of course not. My personal belief is that everyone should sit bakc in their armchairs with a box of chocolate and a good book/good movie and just relax and stop messing up this world further more. :D

If a muslim family earns and pays its way in the country, They should be allowed in some cases to stay. As for the veil, its not a religous garment or in the koran, it was and still is, a symbol of mis-trust by their insecure husbands who want no other MAN to see them. It has no place on a woman, or in our civilized country. If these cavemen from yesteryear wish to repress their wives, let them do it only in a muslim country, which ours is not.

According to Michael Portillo on a political programme I was watching last night, she did NOT wear the veil at her interview.
I think she is after some compensation from the school. She needs to accept the fact that this a question of ettiquette and NOTHING to do with racism, and should stop trying to make it so.
I personally would not conduct a conversation with someone who was peering out of a letterbox - which is exactly how she appears!

One of the issues I understand is that she did not wear the veil for her interview for the job, nor did she at first when teaching the children with women present. However when required to assist a male teacher she insisted on wearing her veil. Interesting point if he had brought a case of sex discrimination against her.....

I'm a bit pissed off that according to today's press her "fight" is going to cost the UK TAXPAYER £250,000!
She should fund her "fight" herself.
Or give it up and sod off to an Islamic state where she can veil herself up as much as she wants.
Why does she live in a country whose culture is not compatible with her beleifs?
She'll find sympathy for her "fight" is more and more dimished as time goes on.
Personally I would NEVER want my child being taught by someone who was shrouded up in black like that.
Western culture values the ability for people to communicate face to face. Its our culture. She wants to live here then she has to get used to it
As for her arrogant comment that "we should integrate with her" why the hell should we?

Anyone with a bit of sense who works in a classroom knows that children (especially those with English as a second language) need to see the teacher/teaching assistant's face, especially their mouth. She should stop wasting taxpayers' money & shove off.

Well, she's going to fight, which is her perogative. What I object to, very strongly, is the fact that she's going to get legal aid.
