Some people do actually follow this... mainly because its like its become some sort of trend now. Unfortunately, these people who follow this don't even understand what the "no snitching" thing is all about, or who and what it relates to.
I could explain it... but I don't have that much time on my hands. And knowing what yahoo answers is like, the crowd here wouldn't really get it anyway. Most people will look at as someone saying "ok... i committed this crime, and I don't want to get caught, so don't snitch on me". Thats not what it is about.

peer pressure has been kicked up a notch. with the infiltration of gangs and more ethnically diverse schools, the snitch policy has been taken to new levels. its hard enough for kids to function normally let alone do the right thing and tell on a fellow student when they are breaking the rules. the repercussions are terrible. it is not right and i think the school/parents should take 'whistle blowing' seriously and help these kids doing the right thing and prevent retaliation. its a sad state of affairs when bullying is higher on the chain than practicing good morals and standing up for ones ethical views.

***TO DODGE--so its better to trust a criminal and/or someone that is being dishonest than to trust someone trying to uphold the law and rights of others??? give me a break. sounds like your preparing yourself for some prison life. good luck with that.

I know what you are saying. Snitches ind upin ditches. At best it is like two friends telling the same story to avoid trouble.
At worst it is a threat of physical harm if you tell on somebody. Yes many children follow this. I saw it first hand (threats and violence) while working in a prison.

They are watching out for themselves. Being a snitch is a shameful thing and they might be retaliated against.

snitching is bad. they have to learn while they're young. you know what happens to people that snitch in jail, SHANK. thats right. you know why? cause no one can trust or respect someone who will snitch.
