Can you use a special dvd edition expansion pack if you have the normal sims 2?

i could only find the sims 2 pets on a dvd one so i got it but before i open it i want to know if it will play with the original sims not being a special dvd edition?

Yes, there is no difference between dvd and cd verion of the sims 2 games and expansion packs. It's only the format of the disc.

Your sims 2 pets dvd version will work with sims 2 cd edition.

u have to unload regular sims2 then load ur expansion. ur regular sims 2 won't work anymore
