yes criticism is very important in ones life but positive criticism not negative one, which is meant to make up ur personality n point out ur weakness plus giving some help for its correction.but negative criticism which is just meant to disheart u , n done under jelousy is worst.that doent bring good to u rather it create more complications in ur personality.i always welcome a good criticism which i think i always needed n make u a better person n u can get that from sincer peoples.so u r right criticism is necessary , it always brings u good.

There are contexts in which criticism is appropriate, but these are very few.

There are way too many people who feel they have the right to continually criticize everyone else. These people are a menace.

People have the right to make their own decisions, and live their own lives. Too few people realize this.

Most criticism is wrong. People minding their own business suddenly have someone in their face telling them what they think is wrong with them. This is rude.

Besides, most people who criticize others don't know what they're talking about. They don't know the person, their situation, their reasons for doing what they're doing. Or they are trying to impose their way of doing things on everyone else.

All it does is cause hurt and angry feelings (and sometimes a punch on the nose) in their victims.

No, I think people should try to do the best they can in their own lives and leave others alone. (Of course, you have the right to think whatever you think, just not necessarily to force it on others.)

What makes your idea of how I should live better than my own?

After submitting my answer, I had a sudden recollection of a poster I saw once: Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Funny, but untrue.

Constructive criticsim is a good thing, but it has to be given in a thoughtful and kind way. If asked for that makes it easier, but if you feel someone could be helped by a critical suggestion and might resent it or be angered by it you should tread softly. Unwanted criticism can have an adverse effect.

Sure constructive criticism is necessary, coz we can get blinded to our own faults sometimes. If someone points them out to us in a helpful way, I think it's great. But some ppl do use these opportunities to be bitchy and trash people.

Also, helping someone improve isn't the same as "judging" them. We're no one to pass judgment on anyone else, but if we can help someone improve, then we should do it.

That depends on whether the criticism is designed for destruction, or edification. If your intent is destruction, then you are not worth being around. If your intent is to help people grow and become better persons, then you are worthy of friendship.

Constructive criticism and, occasionally, destructive criticism are both necessary, in my opinion.

It depends. If it is a constructive criticism, then it is good. If it is a destructive criticism then it divides and it destroys.

yes, you are right.but self criticism is equally important. always be critical to your pre-established views.see carefully whether the people who are criticising you ,are offering a healthy or a biased and full of negativity crticism.avoid such people who impose as healthy critics but actually are leg-pullers.
