I have been with Tiscali for about 5 months i already get 2meg and wanted to shop around for 8meg and maybe better offers, but all get is message like this:
"We have detected a product that may be currently unsuitable for Broadband on your line" or "We have detected a feature or service on your line that is incompatible with Broadband. Your line maybe a 30k loop, private circuits, RedCare, Meter Pulse or a PBX extension line. You will either have to ask BT to remove this feature or choose another line"

What does this mean i already have broadband what could the problem be? Any help would be great......... Thanks

RedCare is for burglar alarm circuits, I think
PBX means you're plugged into some office exchange
private circuits would mean a wire that BT doesn't own

probably none of these are actually true.

BT are known to cheat sometimes in the way they hook up phone lines, especially when they run short of capacity. Complain (151 I think) and they should fix it.

When you signed up to Tiscali you entered into a 12 month contract with them, if you try to move they will charge you for the remaining 7 months of the contract - I wouldn't worry about the error message at the moment.
