Believe it or not, an abnormal pap is not an abnormal thing. Many women have abnormal paps in their lives once or twice. Like everyone else said, he is goignt o do more testing and then he is gonna give you antiobiotics and after a couple of months he will give you another pap and it should be normal.. I guess because is called "ABNORMAL" it automatically makes you feel abnormal.. but those are just words docs use.. no worries.

Not necessarily. Most people who have an abnormal pap, have to have follow-ups for a couple months to make sure that it's getting better and then they usually end up with a normal pap in the end. So don't worry too much! Good luck!

if u had sex in the few days before your pap that could cause an abnormal or it may have been inconclusive...worst case senario uterine cancer or something like that....but dont worry most cases are fine...people get abnormal paps very often and when they take another everything is just fine and normal...having an abnormal pap is very common

It means that he wants to perform a follow up examination and take another smear. Abnormal paps are not always cancer, sometimes it's a condition called cervical hyperplasia, which is not cancer, but needs to be watched.
It's good that your doc is on the ball and is not delaying anything.

Its not bad. You probably need more tests ran, could be anything from HPV (which 99% of sexually active people have) so its not extremely serious as long as its taken care of right away, or you could have something as simple as a yeast infection or bacterial infection. I wouldnt worry too much.
