when storing a battery it's best to remove it from the system and place it in a dry place. Clocks and other small devices cause a constant drain on the battery which can delete it before it's next use. Store the battery in a dry place and recharge before replacing in the RV.

Most modern vehicles have something that will drain a battery over a protracted period of inactivity.

You have two choices. You can disconnect the battery cables to eliminate the electrical drain or install a small battery tender (trickle charger)

Several companies make a 1 amp charger that connects to the battery and can stay hooked up all the time. You just plug it in when you want to charge it up.

Connect it to a trickle charger, and/or switch to a gel-cell or AGM type battery with a longer shelf life.
