This may sound vague, but it really depends on how long "the beginning" has been. It also really depends on the severity of the lie. For example, if someone said that they have no children, and it turns out that they have 3, then that's unforgivable. However, if that person said that they were an adventerous, type A personality and turns out to be a couch potato, it really depends on what you want in that person. How did you find out? Did that person fess up or did someone else tell you?

If a person can not be honest with you from the beginning then what is the friendship/relationship built on? If I can't trust someone to be honest then I have built my Honor, Faith, and Trust in that friendship/relationship on nothingness. Who ever whats to waist their time on nothingness?
They say that respect and trust is earned not bestowed. To a point i agree. Everyone starts somewhere? So one must risk a tiny bit of faith in someone in order for them to show themselves worthy of the honor you bestow. After that it is up to them to grow or shrink it. Many say that everyone deserves a second chance. However I have rarely seen a second chance that did not have some note of caution to it. So now it comes to you only you can decide if the person is worthy of a second chance. Follow your heart.

not knowing any details i would say trust yourself. everyone lies at some time to some degree. It becomes easier to be honest with time together, when we start to trust that another person wont harm us for being truthful.

Can you provide some additional information? Who lied to you, friend, family, best friend, what did they lie about? Personal, something they've done?

First, it depends on the lie .
Second, people change and in time, most people grow to trust each other.
However, your case may be different.

Why would you want to? Once a liar, always a liar. Sorry, but that has been my experience.
