does the morning after pill cause a positive pregnancy test? If so how ling until She should test again. They want to keep the baby, but got scared before they knew and took the pill late, but has a positive test. Did the pill cause a positive test?

The morning after pill can only prevent a pregnancy, not abort one. It is not an abortion pill. Once a pregnancy has taken place, the pill wil not effect it. Just don't take it again, because it still isn't too good for the developing fetus.
The morning after pill only works if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, and the sooner taken, the more likely it is to work. Sounds like she took the pill way too late.
Finally, as for your last question, the morning after pill does NOT cause a positive pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests detect the presence of hcg, a hormone your body only produces when you are pregnant.

I have known 3 people to do the whole morning after pill and 1-3 days later take a pregnancy test freaking out and they all came out positive, but yet at a later date none of them turned out to be pregnant. Not sure if thats some odd thing that happened to all of them or if taking a pregnancy test right after that can mess it up or not. I would just call planned parenthood or wherever she took the test at and see ask them. It would only take about a 2 minute phone call, beats wondering!

No, the morning after pill will not cause a false positive or false negative result and according to planned parenthood on the net it will not abort or cause miscarriages, they also say it will not cause abnormalities. Hopefully that helps, I would have her take another test though. Good Luck

your not supposed to take the pill AFTER you know your pregnant. Thats too late to be taking it. She is probably pregnant and has probably harmed the baby. She needs to talk to a doctor about what is going on.

no. a preg test mesures hcg levels (the prego hormone). The pill does not have that hormone in it.
