The best part about being a kid is the ability to use your imagination without limitations. It was discovering the adventure around you without the use of electronic games or other mindless toys that took up more money than the use of one's own mind. It was believing in the little things that made the world so bright and wonderful. It was looking out at the rain that kept you in and made you wish your parents wouldn't fuss so much if you were to go out and play in it even if you were to get wet! It was about getting the gold star on your short story that you'd written and being able to read it aloud in class and having everyone enjoy it. It was just great being a kid!

Innocence, video games, friends, ice cream, pizza, staying up all night, discovering new things, music, watching classic movies for the first time, going shopping, riding a bicycle, going swimming, learning to drive, being naughty and getting away with it, getting an award, playing baseball and winning, taking your first smoke or drink (optional!), getting an award, chatting on the net, holidays, skipping school, thinking you will live forever, no worries, sleeping.

And a million other things I have unfortunately forgot.

No responsibility, worry over the future etc....having the ability to truly be yourself. It's perhaps the most honest and simple part of life.

Feeling safe and protected, and the feeling that no one could destroy me. I grew up in Rural New jersey and had a great childhood. I am 65 yrs old, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
