Since your baby is 6 months old he or she will be ready for baby food. I heard someone mention cereal. There is gerber baby cereal in the baby section of your local grocery store. Follow the directions on the package by mixing it with formula. He is wakeing up either because he is hungry, doesnt feel good, needs his diaper changed. Make sure he doesnt have a fever and burp him well after he eats. He might have gas. Also put him to bed the same time every day and night. usually 2 naps a day for 1 to two hours and about 11 hours of sleep at night is about right. I did that for my son. If he still is wakeing up every hour I would take him to the pediatrician to figure out what is wrong.

I think you should try to keep the baby awake more during the day. Only letting him nap twice a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon, and always keeping him awake after 5 or 5:30 at night. Keep him up till around 9 p.m. or so. If you give can, give him a bottle around 5:30 or six in the evening. Feed him some rice cereal mixed with formula or baby juice about 7, then give him another bottle at bedtime. It will take some time for him to adjust, but he will learn to take fewer naps, and save his sleeping for nightime. Also, he will learn to eat more cereal with time, which will help him sleep better. If you have any other questions, you can contact me at tesarae74@yahoo.com. I'm a mother of 4, so maybe I could help. Also, everything that fleur los said.

It's not an issue of hunger.it's an issue of habit and security. Try tiring him out more before bed by playing with him more. Also, start shortening his naps earlier in the day....a warm bath after playtime might help. He may be old enough to start some cerel before bed. Always discuss this with your Dr before starting though.

I think you need to try and play with your baby before putting him/her to bed. Again shorten naps during the day.
