I'm 15 and I have one week to put together a costume for halloween! Then thing is it has to be in the school drees code meaning it can't be shorter that 3in above the knee and it can't be strapless of spegtti strap!

do an indian princess outfit. the ultra suede fabrics can be folded in half with a head hole cut, make fringes at the arm openings and the hem after you've cut a section off the bottom for a belt. It you fold the front portions of the dress back and the back portions front, then place the belt around the middle there is no sewing and it is a nice outfit. Just add some inexpensive beads and a head band and there you have it.

Last year I saw on the Martha Stewart show how they made a witches costume from black garbage bags and duct tape.
you need the drawstring bags. one they cut a slit in the area under the drawstrings so it was a bit longer and they cut ,in a zig zag, the bottom part of the bag off, that part is used for another part of the costume.
this one is for the top half of the costume. It is put on like a tube top with the drawstrings as the shoulder straps. pull and tie to fit.
don't worry about the strings coz they get covered later.
then another bag is cut to be the skirt, zig zag like the first and that is tied around the waist. Duct tape as much as needed to keep the top and bottom together.
they also cut a third bag in half to be the sleeves...they used duct tape to hold things in place. Just tape the sleves to the top.
the cut off parts are used to make the cape and they pulled on the zig zag points to stretch them.(also did on skirt)
It was pretty cool and waterproof but you may need scissors to cut the costume off when done.
I hope I explained enough for you to figure out how to do it.
a half dozen bags and tape are cheap especially if you already have them around

what about a Angel costume?.....it would be to the floor and have long sleeves.....and everybody wants to be an angel. I made my daughter one by laying one of her dresses, that is to big for her, on top of some white material and traced it off.....and bought the wings and tiara at Walmart in the costume section...also I added a gold colored belt and some gold trim around the sleeves...and it looks professional...I also put some bias tape around the neck and on the split down the back....the wings were put on first and the costume closes up over the gap in the back...I had to notch the back out so the wings would look like they were actually coming out of her back.....it turned out great....

Can you wear long dresses, if so wear a long dress that looks like the old pioneer women of the West and wear a bonnet too? You could wear some lace up boot shoes too.

Wear all black and be gothic, or a black dress for a witch, or get some of your moms old clothes and go as an 80's person. Wear a nice dress and be prom queen or a princess.

If you have a black all in one dress (like the ones they wear as a uniform) you can put your hair in two pigtails, make your skin pale and go as Wednesday Addams from the Addams family!

Sexy Pirate or a sexy school girl but with a longer skirt. JCPenny has them. Or you could wear a long or semi long dress and be a sexy witch. Do your hair nice and get a cute hat.
