I have a dear friend who has MS. I have known Albert since we were in the first grade. We have never been lovers, only friends. He has often expressed those exact thoughts to me, that no one will ever want him again. I tell him that he should not lose faith and just give up. We do not know what the future holds.
Albert is certainly a big believer in stem cell research. We can hope that someday they may find a way to cure MS. I hope so.

So many people have said ABSOLUTELY! I'm going to be the devil's advocate and look at things from another perspective completely.
If you are thinking long term and a life long commitment, are you ready to take on the potential care needs this person may require as the disease progresses? Are you prepared to watch this person possibly suffer in the later stages of the disease? By the same token, are you willing to possibly miss out on the love of a life time by NOT having a relationship with an MS patient? Maybe even your soul mate? Are you willing to love unconditionally regardless of their body limitations and abilities?
Love knows no limits and if you are meant to be in this person's life then you will be.

I might be scared to start a sexual relationship with someone who has a debilitating condition, but I would happily keep such a relationship with someone I had already grown to love and cherish. Humans are scared of what they do not know about, and I know very little about MS. Maybe the right person could show me more and educate me. Bottom line, we love who we love, faults and strengths both, and MS or whatever condition is there, it is part of the whole that is loved.

Why not? A friend of the family had MS and got married, had four children, and started a business before he died. If his wife had been a fatalist and didn't get involved with him she would not have her four beautiful children, the means to take care of them, and thirteen years of beautiful memories. The last two years sucked, but why deny yourself the opportunity? You can't know how the disease will progress and life is all about taking chances.

I would have a relationship with someone i love. If that person had ms, then I would be in love with a person who happened to have ms. It's not an easy disease to deal with. My brother had it. But you may just have an amazing relationship, irregardless. I hope you make the right choice. good luck.

It depends on the person just as in every other situation. We all have our issues and shortcomings, some are more noticeable than others. MS isn't a decent reason to not consider someone.

I once told my boyfriend that I would love him no matter what and I stick by that still. Plus, I prefer to have relationships with people who have interesting personalities and I have found, that most people who have had to struggle in life are strong, vibrant and creative minded people. My kind of people~!

Absolutely. I'd have to like them, and their personality. And of course, they'd have to be able to accept my flaws and limitations, too. It can be so hard to find the right person, so I'm glad MS is not something that would prevent me from loving someone.

sure if i loved the person I would do anything ...
I would probably love them for them and just learn more about the disease and do what ever I could to help
for better or worse
and I would not want to not date someone who had ms that I liked because I would not want to miss out on the possibility that they are the one

If I was in love with the person I couldn't care less what their disability is. My life partner is disabled and I wouldn't change a thing about her if I could. Loving the person is all that matters.
