I think it goes back to the African culture. I'm African-American and I moved to an African country. The people here shout at each other across long distances or when the person is right in front of their face. But of course you shoud say some black people not all. I'd say most though. lol

Ya know I have witnessed the same thing. While this is not always true, indeed this is a generalization, it does have some truth to it. I don't know why. I asked my coworker, who is African American this same question regarding playing dominoes. He said slamming the dominoes down was a way of claiming dominance or one up man ship.
You are not a bigot. I don't detect hate in those words. And I have seen the same thing myself time after time. Especially when I worked in a prison. It is an interesting phenomena to ponder.

I don't find this true, I'm very softspoken, and so is my family, except my dad but he has an extremely deep voice that's always loud. I know alot of white people who say "Like, omg!" really loudily, but I don't say all white people are like that.

My friend use to say its because we have big families and have to scream to be heard. I do notice that black Americans in particular are loud. In the Bahamas they are loud too, but all Bahamians are loud and bossy (white, black, asian, indian)...I don't know.

Don't know...but Ralph Wiley (noted Black sportswriter and columnist) wrote a book entitled "Why Black People Tend to Shout"...so it's not racist to note that. I rather suspect it's something cultural...

I've noticed that too. Where I used to work in the lunch room the Africans would be so loud talking back and forth that you couldn't hear the tv.
