I have several scents that have memories attached to them very strongly. Pine being one of them. Every time, that smell takes me back to Michigan when I was a little girl.

The Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee. Family trips as a kid to the Zoo and Brewer games are some of the memories from long ago. Every time I go past it, (which isn't too many times anymore as I live in Illinois), the memories come flooding back.

Rotting beef. The Knapp Commission Hearings. Even funnier is the present former F.B.I. agent under indictment for selling information to the mob. As well as incisive press occasionally surfacing on N.S.A. denials of conspiracy. Rotting beef. No, I'm not a vegetarian. Ick! Order me up a huuuge Big Mac!!!

Yes. Washing dishes with Palmolive green soap reminds me of doing dishes with my cousin when we were kids. I was visiting him around Christmas in 1985. He and I were in an ocean accident shortly after that. He was killed and I survived.

I believe memories that are associated with smells are called Engrams. Scientologists use this term as well, but in a different connotation.

This is really gross, but here goes.....I was 18 and with my boyfriend at the time and he was driving me home from a movie and a few burgers from White Castle's. (Those of you who are familiar with White Castle's know where this is going!..)

Anyway, he released the most God awful, noxious, putrid, rancid, stench from his ***, that was so thick that it was actually difficult to breath! I said, "oh my God, pull the car over!" He was like, "oh, come on...it's not that bad!"

I said "pull the car over, I am going to puke!" He did, and I did!

True story!

New car smell

Driving with my parents in our new 1976 Jeep Cherokee and stopping at McDonalds's for supper. I had a shake that gave me food poisoning (at home--not in the Jeep, thank goodness).

The smell of strawberry yogurt. It reminds me of kindergarden. I can see other kids in my mind, and I remember having a cup of strawberry yogurt in my hands.
Some perfumes remind me of my granny, and in some cases some lotions remind me of certain season ie chirstmas.
