Eat, **** and Sleep in your heels! Practice with a book on your head like audrey hepburn.!!!!
Walk toe heel..not heel toe...you dont want to hear the heals clumping
Pull your shoulders back and lean back a bit.
Walk one foot infront of the other
your hips should sway with your stride.....i.e. naomi campbell.

Consider an analogy. You would not attempt to explain Einstein's theory of General Relativity without having understood the Michaelston-Morley experiment. And for that you need to have a good understanding of dynamics, and so on...

So do not expect to wear heels after a lifetime in sneakers.

You need to start with a low non-stilletto heel, say about 1.5" high. You cannot walk as in sneakers with a heel-toe impact. With heels, you need to "land" either on the whole sole or on the toes first. Remember that high heels throw your bottom backwards and your chest forward. Overcoming this puts pressure on the calf muscles, which, initially may be uncomfortable. So build up bit by bit. Wear them for ten minutes on the first day, fifteen on the next, etc.

Get used to wearing the lower heels first, then move onto a higher or thinner heel. But do not expect to master a 4" block heel and then go straight to a 4"stilletto. Stillettos need more care when walking (unless you fancy recovering from a broken ankle!)

In short, it takes practice. But, believe me, it can be well worth it in the long-run.

Finally, just as not every Physics student can understand Relativity, not every woman can wear a 5"stilletto high heel in comfort with plomb and grace. If your comfortable limit is 3", then so be it.

Good luck

Like I told my little sister... wear them at home when you're alone and on the weekends. PRACTICE makes perfect. There's no reason to give up your sneakers, it's okay to be comfy. Just realize that sometimes you want to feel feminine and heels really help. Seriously, you wouldn't want to wear tennis shoes with a really nice dress... right? . :) Good luck

Practice with heels that are about a inch and when you get confortable with them try 2 inches and so on. I would also get Dr. Scholl's cushions for your feet since you are use to the comfy tennis shoes.

Pelvis out, do not allow your ankles sink in. Practice down any lengthy hallways on your apartment earlier than moving into public. Wear them across the apartment till you believe at ease. If you are dressed in them to institution, I'd endorse strolling up and down the steps a few instances in order that you do not shuttle.

I wish I could help you. When you get an answer let me know. I'm 24 and I still cannot walk on high heels. I look all wobbly. I don't even think I could make it down steps.

you should probably start on very small heels, and practice. when you get better u can use taller ones. If you can't use a tiny heel after 1and a half months u probably are not born for heels.

Pick up your feet when you walk and place them directly in front of the other. I learned that from modeling. Sometimes you see and hear people kind of dragging their feet when they are wearing high heels.
