I only use All detergent, I add nothing to my whites at all and they always look great. Be sure it is the stain lifter one too, I have 3 kids and it works wonders!

Use the oxygen products plus there is a blue-ing agent that you can find in the laundry dept of the store. The last time I bought the blueing agent (really makes the white come back) it had a cartoon drawing of a grandma or 'Old Maid' on the bottle.
Good Luck.

Believe it or not, a lot of times it has to do with the washer itself. The only way I discovered this was when my wife and I switched from a top-loader to an Asko W660 front loader. The thing heats its own water, spins over 1600 rpms, and we don't have any stains to speak of. We tried all sorts of detergents and supplements to the soaps but it was the machine that finally made the difference. PS: Sorry it sounded like an advert for the washer, but it worked for my wife and I.

For clothes that are already yellow try RIT Color Remover. It will make them look crisp again. For the future Oxiclean works well, or you can use white vinegar as a bleach subsitute. It works really well for colors too. It will hold in the color better than anything.

Wash with soap and borax, then add bluing agent to the final rinse. Use bleach occasionally for stains, but make sure you measure because using too much will cause yellowing. Good luck!

I use Oxiclean and hot water. It works wonders! Use hot water, add oxiclean (I use more than they say to use) and then your regular detergent. I put the clothes in, and let it "swish" for a minute, then turn it off and let them soak for a good 15 minutes (longer for dirtier items), then turn the washer back on and let it do it's thing! It's better than bleach, by far! Good luck

Use 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide in your wash. You can use up to 1 cup. It not only whitens, brightens, but also is a disinfectant.

Kristen and Applecore have solved your problem for you. I have two teenage boys and they wear white socks that look white.
