Your Sun sign really doesn't give very valid information on who you should look for in a partner. The above explanation gives a pretty decent rundown of how it works. Astrology can inform you of where your talents and abilities lie, therefore might be helpful with figuring out what sort of career to pursue, what you like in a partner, whether you will have a large or small family or are prone to drug or alcohol abuse. These are just a few of the things it can tell you. BUT, no star, planet or house position is stronger than your free will. Many people fall into the trap of letting it control every aspect of their lives. This is where the pitfall of relying on these things lays. Learn to control your own life in spite of what the stars say the average person with such and such astrological placements would normally do. Use it as a tool for enlightenment, then go out and make your own choices and let the planets and stars fall where they may.
Best wishes

well, it all depends whether or not you want to believe in it or not. im kind of interested in the subject - so i learned how to do birth charts. i did mine and it was pretty scarilly accurate.

when you talk about love life and relationships with others then your main zodiac sign has little to do with it. this is just your general personality. this is your 'sun sign' - i.e. where the sun was in the sky at the time you were born.

for a study of relationships, I (as an astrologer) would look at your moon sign, your venus sign and your mars sign.
where the moon was placed at the time you were born is supposedly linked with your emotions. for example i am a Taurean (sun) supposedly very sensuous and er, hungry. my moon sign is in virgo however so my emotions are governed by logic and im more restrained. making sense? emotions play a big part in seeing how well a relationship works. the best match (again supposedly) for a perfect relationship is when you and your partner have the same moon sign.

your venus sign deals with your creativity but it also deals with how you approach other people. if you're a female it shows what makes you attractive to others and if you're a male it shows what you look for in a partner.

the mars sign is the opposite. If you're a male it shows what peple admire bout you or what attracts them to you and if you're a female it shows what you want in a partner.

the testing of relationships in astrology is done by comparing your own signs to that of our partner. a general rule of thumb is that the same sign is ok (unless its taurus). the adjecent sign is terrible. the sign one zodoac sign appart is pretty good. signs two zodiac signs appart isnt all that hot, three signs appart is the best (unless your talking moon signs). four - not so good opposite (six signs appart) not bad.

This sort of decision-making tool only has the power over you that you give it. Make your goal freeing yourself from such planetry and external stuff and flip a coin from your pocket...then you have to give power to that coin and the limited choices of only two sides. The zodiac is far more complex, and interesting, than just two sides of a coin, but make your own decisions based on intuition and experience. Include the zodiac if you feel you should, but do not let it be the boss. You be the boss!

Nope. Not a bit - it's just superstition.

Think about it - The planets are millions of miles away - some are hundreds of millions. Gravity follows the inverse square rule, which says that the level of a planet's pull is the square of the inverse of its distance. That means that if you move twice as far away from the planet, its pull is only 1/2 of what it was originally. If you move 3 times as far, it's only 1/9th as much. If you move a million miles away, it's pull is less than the neighbor's Buick.

But have you ever heard someone say you shouldn't date someone because their neighbor drives a Ford?

It only has something to do with your life if it's something you believe in. Some people do it for fun, others take it a bit more seriously.

I like horoscopes & all the things that are associated with it but you have to wonder, if you hadn't read your horoscope for the day, would you be as likely to pick out meanings everywhere you go & to read into things as you do? Its interesting but try to be a bit light hearted about it.

Its a bit like religion, if you didn't belive in God would miracles still happen?

Yes, my husband and I are both Aries, and we are very much a like, and fit the aries profile. I think it really has a lot to do with how compatible you are with someone. However, I think daily horoscopes are a load of BS!

yes and a whole lot. if you don't believe in it, it doesn't mean that its not true, there is allot of truth in your sign. there really is. it doesn't work like that though, its not designed to tell us this person or that. i would go further but i sense hesitation and non believing on your part and think you should take time to open your eyes to everything you don't believe in.

Nope! :]

It's not logical! How can the date of your birth reveal ANYTHING about what you're going to be when you grow up, how good you are at sports, how much future success you will have if you do a certain thing?

But I have to admit, they are pretty funny!
