I am an old (if you consider 31 to be old) political science graduate. I am generally a 3rd party voter. Greens, Libertarian, Reform, etc. I have noticed that on Yahoo Answers that many folks are unable to grasp political philosophy. They are unable to discuss political issues in an articualte manner. They view politics as a sporting event with teams. It is extremely difficult to ask a question about a particular issue without folks making assumptions. Then it goes back to the Clinton vs. Bush game. Over and over. If you criticize a conservative point of view, folks assume you are a Democrat and a die hard Clinton supporter. Then the usual reply is, "Well, Clinton got sucked off by..." If you criticize a liberal viewpoint, folks assume you are a Republican and die hard Bush supporter. The usual reply is, "Well, the Bush administration lied about WMD's..." Why can't folks remove themselves from these types of trivial partisan arguments and discuss the issue itself?

The USA is so competitive that everything is judged to be on one side or the other. The people are not educated in political thinking. They do not even have to vote if they don't want to .

Emotional issues are dragged out at every election so the people are blinded to the "religious" philosophy of politics and vote for the domestic issue of choice.

Do we really know that it is just a matter of power and money?

Of course not. The political agenda is totally changed on the other side of the election, no matter how idealistic the candidates are before hand.

What can we really do to change this:- Its all part of the much greater game of politics, power and control.

Got me, I find that many on hear are narrow minded and stuck in a vacuum of he said she said they said we said, they did we did, blah blah blah, it is time to look at the big picture instead of viewing everything from snippets on CNN. I never take anything at face value in Washington. If you listen its all the blame game and on what the other side didn't do what we did, all the time ignoring the real issues and what the Americans really doesn't really matter to them. they are quick to judge and distort facts. Why is that when Liberals want to preserve our constitution, Cons say its pro terrorism? and why do some analyst come out and say The American public agrees with the current course of the war on terrorism. I mean is there head on this planet? I have to wonder with what comes out of Washington. Why are some so content to give or rights away? Why do they always fix something after the fact instead of before. Like the borders wont get fixed until a terrorist walks across the border and commits an act of terrorism. I mean I know what your saying. Its very frustrating, people won't get it, until it's to late.

Did you know, that it is because most people just don't care? ThirtyOne is not old, you are still too young to know that you still haven't really learned anything.. one thing old people learn as they get older, is how much we still have to learn..When you are young you think you know it all.. as you get older you realize just how much you have to learn.
