The Bear in the Big Blue House would put the smack-down on Barney.
It would start out with Barney singing that god-awful "I love you, you love me" song and after about 50 times of singing it, the Bear would rip off his arm and then proceed to bludgeon Barney to death with it.
(Yes, I'm bored too).

Hahahaha awesome. Bear could take Barney definitely. All it would take is falling on him. Besides, Bear has animal friends to back him up. Barney has kids that would probably just start crying...or singing, and that would just be annoying...

Bear, definately!
While both are sickening sweet, I think Barney would run away from any confrontation whatsoever!
Bear is rather large also, he would definately have a weight advantage.
