The answer to this question is YES. to all those who stated No they sang to soothe the Cattle ??? What is up with that. The Lead Bull(Called "Old G" by all his cattle Buddies (also known as "The Old G's Posse") would be out walking on the Cattle drive and the "Cowboys" would be ridin in the horses with 16 inch rims (Some had Spinners) and they would be laying down made rhymes. I tell you it is a sight to behold to see 2-300 head of cattle moon walking on a drive.

Little known fact but the only way a Bull could achieve "Old G" Status was to display his strong Pimp Hand, Be able to knock down a "40" like it was nothing and hav been credited with at least 2 walk by shootings with an UZI .
Thats Real Talk yo !!!

Cowboys sang to the cattle to keep them settled down so they would not startle and stampede. Were they rap songs, I doubt it very much.

From what I have read they mostly sang ballads in order to soothe and calm the cattle and keep them from getting too restless at night.

HEAD EM UP, MOVE EM OUT YEEEEHAAHHHHH ! ! ! ! I think that sounds a brilliant rap, if they didnt then they shouldve. And instead of horses they probably had skateboards, an instead of big hats they had dreadlocks. Talking of big hats did you know big hats were mentioned in the bible. As in Joseph and Mary biggat Jesus.
