You're afraid of what you'll decide to do? Thats because you havent decided what you'd do in any situation.
If your standards are no drinking and no drugs, then you'll stand by it come hell or high water.
I didnt do drugs, never have, never will. Ive had many opportunities to, but refused.
I didnt drink until i was 21 and married, and i never have drank at a bar, or ever would get drunk at a party.
Once you know what you will expect from yourself, you will stop worrying about it.

Although it's good or better to not do them keep in mind that those videos are made to scare you. A lot of times they're over the top or exagerated. Most adults safely drink from time to time and you probably will also by the time you're old enough or sooner. The important thing is to be responsible and not drive afterwards. Marijuana is illegal but actually safer than alcohol in comparison, but anti drug people will not admit to this in most cases. People are much more reckless and more likely to get violent while under the influence of alcohol whereas pot mellows you out and tends to cause you to be more cautious. You can die from drinking too much but you wont die from smoking too much pot. Of course drugs like crack, cocain, herion, etc should be avoided since they are more dangerous.
Most of the horror stories you'll hear are extreme cases. Drunk driving is a common and very dangerous thing but that has more to do with people be irresposible than moderate drinking being bad. I'll bet you health teacher has a drink once in a while. Also people that become addicted to drinking - again went too far, and most likely have other emotional issues that drove them to escape by drinking. As far as pot goes the horror stories are far and few. I couldn't possibly count all the people I know or have known that smoked pot at some point in their lives and they are all fine and most of them have great paying jobs now. And it's not a gateway drug. The gateway is ones own unhappiness with life and need for greater escape. Most pot smokers do not turn out to be heroin addicts.
I don't smoke pot myself but I did for fun when I was younger and I'm fine now. It's all about being responsible. A lot of things are bad for you in excess. Look at all the side effects for perscription drugs you see on TV. Some could actually kill you. Any time you use any drug you're taking some risk. The key is to be smart about your choices.
Your young though so staying away from it all is best. Save it for college when you're older and just remember to be smart about it. And if you never ever touch any of it - good for you.

I am glad to see that there are still some people out there that are proud to say they would not do drugs. Lets hope you still say that as life goes on and you get into hight school and all. I always was against drugs too but then once I got to 18 years old things changed.I had been hooked on drugs Meth for about 7 years and my boyfreind had used for about 18 years. We have a 10 month old daughter and I am 24 weeks pregnant. We have now both been clean for 24 weeks and plan to continue to be clean.I am so glad to see a youngster so against drugs.Continue to be as they will bring you nothing but trouble. If you have self respect then never use.

it is perfectly normal to think about these issues. I myself am deathly afraid of meth, cocaine, and various other intravenis drugs.
marijuana not so much as i honestly believe that you will pass out before you smoke too much to kill yourself (but then i never heard of anyone dying from smoking too much anyway). "X" i have heard alot of deaths. i did try it once. then someone told me it was a mix of drugs including cocaine, i won't be trying that one again.
a lot of drug related deaths are because people are outside of a safe place (like home) and for obvious reasons end up killing themselves or others. alcohol should be treated the same.
i would never tell someone to not do drugs or drink as that would be hypocritical, but why put yourself or someone you love in danger?
and don't worry about it. just keep in mind, it's not worth it.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I was the same way, 26 and I've NEVER drank or did drugs. I know people don't believe me, but it's true. Basically for the same reasons you have, except I saw the live version and decided it wasn't for me. Plus I was the one my friends got to depend on to help keep them safe at parties. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything, and I got to remember all the dumb things people did, when they couldn't. I never felt peer pressure was a problem, because after a while my friends got use to me not drinking at parties, and they began respect my decision. Good luck!! I wish more kids were like you!!!

You are one smart kid. You are right to be terrified. I never touched a drug in my life, but I have been witness to what they can do. It ruins you life, and on occasion will kill you. Do yourself a favor, and never touch any of those things. This is the best time in your life. Enjoy every minute of it, and don't let drugs and alcohol cloud your judgement.

Drink in moderation (if you drink), don't do drugs (terrorists and mafias may give you some problems because you are funding them when you buy drugs (they are the tops of most drug rings) and , DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE (OR DO DRUGS AND DRIVE, OR GET INTO A VEHICLE WITH A DRUNK OR DRUGGED DRIVER, OR LET ANY OF YOUR CARED ONES GET INTO THAT VEHICLE EITHER).
