It's a mess there. I get frustrated reading about the attacks, the deaths. Why is all this happening? I don't know the history. Could someone give some specific details to understand this whole situation? What country wants what.....and what role is USA playing in all that. I read news items, but they don't give the complete picture. Thank you!

I certainly agree... we shouldn't be involved at all. In fact, I think everyone should just back off Iran while they threaten other countries into submission as they continue their quest to take monopolize control of Mid-Eastern oil. Even though we are a mechanized society and our ecomomy can be shut down in 60 days of we were denied oil imports, not to mention Ahmedinjad's devine mission to usher in the messianic period upon the destruction of Isreal, and after the United States suffers the "full fury of the wrath of Islam" while coninuously deniying world demands to cease production of weapons grade plutonium (i.e. nuclear weapons). If we just "stay out of it" and quit screwing the pooch, give them what they want (full domination and control over the world economy as well as Islamic world dominance), the world would be such a better place.

The problem is that the Middle East isn't just one country or one issue. The problems there have been going on since the beginning of time. Too many different religions, sects, tribes, imperialist ambitions, money and resources (or lack thereof) have contributed to conflicts throughout the ages. It's really far too complicated to summarize every issue and how it began. You'd have to go country by country to begin to understand.

As far as the US goes, they shouldn't be involved except as an intermediary, but Bush sure screwed the pooch on that one!
