It depends on what your definition of "successful" is.

Do you mean a woman who has devoted her life to her career, putting love, marriage and a family on the back burner? The type of woman who single-mindedly pursues her education in whatever field, lands a top executive, high-powered, high-paying position and competes with men in the workplace? That kind of success? Kind of pricey success, if you ask me.

Or do you mean the kind of woman who has an education but chooses to give her energies and knowledge to a family and maintain a home? Successfully living within a one-paycheck budget, keeping her home clean, balancing the needs of drippy-nosed toddlers with those of hormonal teenage girls and her tired, horny husband, making nutritious meals that everybody (ok, almost everybody) likes, spending her evenings at school or church functions, volunteering for the jobs which Ms. Career Woman has no time for because nobody else has....

You get the picture, I hope. If a woman can only be successful by being unmarried, then none of us who have chosen the other route are successful. A woman should be able to get to the end of her day with pride and joy in her achievments, considering herself a success no matter what.
