There's different areas of the brain for short term and long term memory - not everything gets stored from short term to long term. You can think of it like a computer with RAM (short term) and a hard drive (long term). We can't hit full capacity of our brains, but sometimes we can't access all the information from our long term memory, but I believe it's still there...

Only when it comes to math.LOL. I really do suck at math.I can never seem to retain it.Every time I learn something new,I always forget what I have learned previously.IT HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST FRUSTERATING THING FOR ME. LOL.

No. My elderly clients tell me something "new" all the time but mentally i just say to myself "yeah sure, whatever" and do a mental eye roll thing while looking at them and talking seriously/
