She's still alive. Hasn't been in movies but has been active in politics since the 70s including being US Ambassador to a couple of different countries...

She's very much alive. Her name is now Shirley Temple Black and she was awarded some award maybe about 2 years ago. She really hasn't changed much. You can spot who she is when you look at her.
