Yes. Politics may be considered a science because it is adaptable to the scientific method.

1. Observation and description of a phenomenon or group of phenomena.

These would be political events, voting results, candidates, issues, and so forth.

2. Formulation of an hypothesis to explain the phenomena.

In poltics, the hypothesis often takes the form of a causal mechanism for an election or referendum result or a statistical correlation of an outcome to a group of voters.

3. Use of the hypothesis to predict the existence of other phenomena, or to predict quantitatively the results of new observations.

Things like cause and effect relationships with the body politic.

4. Performance of experimental tests of the predictions by several independent experimenters and properly performed experiments.

Such as the poltical survey, the number crunching of political statistitians, poltical polls, spin doctoring, and even the rantings of political analysts and pundits.
