Ethics and Morals should always be upheld, and should be something that politicians should have in mind. Yet, a lot of times when these political figures get into a tight spot or are short of votes, they invoke God to run beside them, do people actually believe that God is their running mate? It is truly sad when they would use someone's faith and devotion as a tool to undermine their intelligence for their own political and personal gain.

I guess all you really have to do is ask God to talk to Pat Robertson and then ask Pat Robertson to tell the world that God said you're going to win and you're in. The whole "A vote for me is a vote for God" thing is way out of line.

In my personal opinion, it is democrats who follow more of the religious teachings of the bible. They accept all people regardless of race or standing or income. They reach out to help less fortunate and give everyone a chance, even the single mom living on welfare. That was me a few years ago. And it was the democrats in my state that helped me get to where I am today (a business owner). The republicans I went to for help back then turned their heads from me and their noses up to me.

But how often do you hear "the democrats are christ-like"??? Rarely ever.

Sorry to make this a republican/democrat thing. I just had to state my opinion :)

About 20-25% vote Republican on the basis that God wants them to. I first heard this in 2000 on Rush Limbaugh -- not the % figure, but the idea that there's such a thing as God's ballot.

Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson seem to have a better following with the Right Wing vote than with God the ticket.

agreed. Simply saying "I'm a born-again Christian" is an easy way to gain points. Evangelical Christians represent a huge voting block, and they tend to vote based on the "words" of a candidate rather that the "actions".

Invoking God's name and using it to support your averice and wrath is blasphemy. Maybe the God they worship is different from the God of Love I worship.

A candidate should not get any support for using God as his/her running mate. Don't they all worship the same God. I don't think God chooses a political party.

Quite frankly, I doubt that God would consent to run on either the Republican or Democratic tickets.

Some politic fanatics don't really give a damm who runs in their party. I know fanatics that will vote for the devil if the devil was running in their party.
