If you're unhappy with yourself? Focus on the fact that you are being quite dishonest. Now, you have some reason to feel badly. Keep focusing and add the fact that to imagine that you are in "control" of you life is delusional thinking, and this too, is dishonest. Now you have two reasons to feel badly. Keep focusing and add one additional fact, and that is that you are who you are and experiencing what you are experiencing due to your Fate Karma, and to think that your life should be other than it is, is delusional thinking, and this only adds to your need to feel badly.
If you can digest all these realities [most cannot] and you can grieve for the anger [masking pain] your ego experiences at this sense of entrapment .... then you will find a sense of Peace, on the other side of your grief.
This is what the wise person does.... but the unwise take things, or do things that help anesthetize the pain and anger.
Peace

Just point out everything your good at even if you think it's trival and keep it positive.. and don't worry if you have a loongg list or a short one! just keep thinking in that way and you;'ll find out more about yourself then anyother time!
also you have to find out what is making you unhappy! and fix it that is not easy! i found out my communication is sometimes mean and harsh and just condisending!

I see a counselor, and it has made a huge difference. Sometimes just being able to talk freely to someone, anyone, without being judgmental is enough. She referred me to a psychologist who in turn told me about me. Weird I know but... she was dead on. She diagnosed me as being bi-polar and started me on meds. I feel wonderful. Sometimes I still feel unhappy with myself but it doesn't consume me, and I don't dwell on it.
Good Luck
