I just read an article how they are banning children from playing tag at recess at schools
WTF people ?
All I can say is this, lord I am glad I was young during the time I was cause this is insane.
Don't you think this is absolutely insane and do you think the way people fil frivalous lawsuits are also to blame
Why can't kids be kids ?

everybody is so worried about kids getting everything. they need to realize that school and activities are getting kids ready for the real world where everything isn't fair and sometime you loose and sometimes you win and sometime you never win and you have to get over it by yourself and pull your self up and start over. everybody is too worried about being too politically correct

Listen kids should be robots as it is the only safe way they can be. Touching games like tag should cease. Can you imagine someone touching you? How traumatizing. What kind of person would do that anyway. Only sane people play games like that. The next thing you know you will need a permission slip from your parents after you get married to procreate.
I agree the rules are too many and parents need to go to parenting classes. This is all politics. Enough is enough.

I think its stupid. This is what I thought when I read it... Come on people, kids are gonna get hurt no matter what theya re doing. Playing Tag is a childs game. In my opinion, we are making our kids grow up to fast. Yes I completely understand wanting to protect them. I have 3 kids of my own. But I wont stop them from being kids. Yes protect them from danger, from dangerous people. But not from being a kid. Even though they banned tag from schools so kids wont get hurt, what are they gonna ban next... the monkey bars, or the slide, maybe the swings? My kids get hurt just by playing in the house... My youngest has this thing for rolling off the couch just for fun. He gets hurt, be gets up and does it again. Maybe I should get rid of my couch, oh and then all the beds and then all the other furniture in the house. Sound stupid? Kids are gonna be kids, they are gonna get hurt. Cant stop it.

Now that is the stupidest thing that I've ever heard I'm thinking about home school my sons and letting them have a ball as long as they get their work done because this new school system is making the kids crazy killers.

I'm not sure that's the death of innocence. It sure is breathing life into stupidity though.
If you really want to be shocked, you could try reading www.Fark.com or my 360 page. I like to browse the news for stupid crap... It's almost hard to be amazed anymore what with all of the idiotic actions of society. And who says we aren't jaded?

I know! Isn't it ridiculous?! I agree that bullying should be nipped in the bud, but for God's sake people, let kids be kids, and play and have fun! Kids also need to learn how be gracious winners AND losers. That's what life is!

Oh i know..its really dumb...even when i was in school...they tried to stop dodgeball cause it was "violent" ....
I also worked at a summer camp for many years...eventually we had to stop using the pond and use the pool cause parents thought a pond was "dirty".... You're not even allowed to jokingly scare a kid at camp anymore (i mean jokingly...all in fun..not like make them bawl cause they think they are going to die or anything) ....
Everything is either "violent" (dodgeball?..violent!?..its like any other sport!) , or "unclean" or something.
people would come to camp with notes saying " I dont want me daughter/son to participate in athletics because I dont want them being hurt or getting dirty!" ... AT A CAMP!.. come on people...let kids be kids! I used to eat dog biscuits when i was a kid ( the colored ones!!) ... kids are more resilient than you think!

I'm of the firm opinion that innocence was lost with American Pie & I'm so glad I'm not in the ranks of the youth of today. Protection is one thing, extreme over-protection is damaging beyond belief.
