older parent is not tech savvy and I would like to get my emails sent to him without spending $40/month and buying a computer

If he doesn't want to get a computer, then just simply send them
a letter or post card. Even a Just because Hallmark Card. And
a stamp. Believe they will be happy just to see a card or letter
from you. But if it has to do with him responding then just expect
a delay or card letting you know they received your post card.
Some people, when they get older they don't care about the new
technology, they prefer the old ways. So just go with the flow.
Anyways thier is a lot's of cute post cards and nice Hallmark
cards at the store, just check and see.

there is a gadget the is strictly for email...i dont know what the name of it is but you could search for it.......maybe grandpa would use it to recieve email.

get a free e-mail account on like yahoo or hotmail and have him check it at the local library or something

They`re expensive but wont a BLACKBERRY do the trick
