What would you recommend, so far as herbs/stones/ colors/etc., to be used in an object carried for healing/relief of pain?
And yeah, I know they don't really make a difference without belief; however, I haven't done anything pagan-style in a good while, this feels like a good way to do this, and I do believe that accumulated belief in the power of an object can certainly augment a ritual.

ETA: For the record, it's for someone with lupus. I've been doing daily rituals to help lessen the pain, but he just had knee surgery with complications brought on by the lupus, so I'd like to give him something with a little oompf to it to carry with him.

Some good herbs for healing would be All spice, Burdock root, Calamus, Cinnamon, Cumin (herb and/or oil), Fennel, Feverfew, Horehound, Job's Tears, Lemon Balm (herb and/or oil), Myrrh, Peppermint, Plantain, Wintergreen, Wolf's Bane, and Yellowdock.
You can also use Juniper Oil and/or Tea Tree Oil.
Some good stones for healing are Aventurine, Bloodstone, and Quartz. And also a good item is a green feather.
Just remember, planetary wise the Moon is associated with healing so look for things with that in mind.
If you cannot get these items locally you can get them online at the link below.

Pure white promotes healing. White candles are good. Get a good sized (non scented) white candle. Take a rusty nail. Scratch the name of the person (whom you want to help) in the candle. Along with a sentence something like "sickness be gone". Be more specific, though. Write the letters where they are (at least) readable. Then burn the candle. As the candle burns add a little cinnamon or a cinnamon stick to the melting wax. Doesn't matter where on the candle you put the cinnamon as long as it ends up in the wax. Pray to nature that your wish be answered but use your own words. Do not pray too long. Then wait for the candle to completely burn down. This may take a while. Next, break up the melted wax and put it in a glass jar, with a lid. Throw the nail in the jar, also. Then take it and bury it in soil, WHERE YOU KNOW IT WILL NEVER BE DISTURBED. Then await your request.

Amethyst was a good suggestion, but I would also recommend any kind of quartz, particularly clear or rose. The say that many black stones (hematite, for example) are good for healing, particularly when it is a major karmic issue, or one related to the muscular or skeletal system. For growing things, they recommend lavender for relaxation and a variety of other things for healing. I think that I've read a lot about people using rose and rose hips for healing, but they're more commonly associated with love and friendship spells. In spellcraft, though, it is up to the crafter to decide what would harmonize the best with his or her own mind. One thing that might help with that is to decide what might work best with the energies of the spell's actual target.
I always advise people against ritual magic, though. It might help people to develop their willpower in the short-term; butI think that any desire can be fulfilled much more efficiently by focusing on it with the mind and body alone, and that ritual would eventually become more of a burden than anything.

Stones: Apaches Tears, Rainbow Obsidian
> I have found that individuals do not necessarily have to 'believe' (so long as they do not have a strong disbelief system) for this to work well in assuaging grief and healing sorrows.
- Rose Quartz is a good supplement to support the restoration of healthy self-love and psychic wellness. Rose Quartz also brings in healing energies for those in physical pain.
> Herbs: If you are speaking of physical pain, there are many herbs that can assist from Valerian to Lobelia and White Willow Bark. Earl Mindell's Herb Bible is a good reference work.
- If you are speaking of emotional pain, Rose will bring in the energy of love. I like pink and white roses when working on emotional healings.
> Colors: White is the color of transformation. If you wish to transform emotions, this can be a useful color (light energy) to use.
- For the body, whereas silver is a supreme anaesthetic and gold is a great harmonizer, orange is the color that 'normalizes' the body.

Bless your heart!
I have Lupus, and it's a daily struggle just to get out of bed.
I suggest if you're making a healing bag, to use a red flannel bag, and also include some hematite for grounding of the pain, and the strength to carry on thru it.
Blessed be.

Try carrying a a small piece of amethyst wherever you go. It is a good general healing for all types of pain and diseases as its healing vibrations go forth with a steady amount of energy, just the amount that you need. I would also recommend a larger piece of amethyst to put in your bedroom or living room; somewhere where you spend a lot of time.
If that doesn't help, I can help you as I am an adepth in healing. You can find me on witchvox under the code name WhiteRaven in WV. Hope that helps.

The question is pretty vague. There are stones available for basically every kind of healing and pain relief for each body part. If you are just talking general healing and pain relief, it is as easy as a clear quartz crystal.

This website also has a link to colour healing.
Herb lore is more complicated and precise, so I would study it if I were you. This is a good refresher link.

Trust your feelings more than books, etc. What I'm saying is that you should let your inner self be your guide and let the objects call to YOU. That way you will be sure to find exactly what it is you need even it isn't a "normal" correspondence for healing/pain relief. Blessed Be and good luck!

Green Jade.--Healing and heart, kidney, stomach disorders. Green is analgesic. The herb lavender is nice to eat and to keep as a little sachet, it is healing and purifying.
I am not a Pagan but know a little about these things.

Green is the color I most associate with healing, so I lean towards Malachite to help draw out and ground pain.
I also have had personal luck with Garnet for promoting healing, but that's likely more because it's my stone and I'm more in tune with it.
