It didn't become legal to sell margarine in Wisconsin until 1967. (It's the butter state.) So I imagine this older law would have affected the prisons as well.

Wisconsin = dairy state. Butter = dairy. Margerine = fake yellow goo that is quite possibly the worst thing to ever be invented in the name of health.
This will probably work out in Wisconsin's favor on a very huge account. Margerine is loaded with trans-fats, the same trans-fats that are being banned in Europe, and being looked at being banned in Chicago and New York. Trans-fats cause higher bad cholesterol counts while decreasing good cholesterol and are being blamed for a wide variety of heart diseases.
So, when the prisoners in other states start suing the states for giving them heart attacks, Wisconsin will be able say, "look, we're a trendsetter and have banned margerines for a long time now, serving only real, natural, wholesome butter."

Why waste our tax dollars on people who are a waste of space?
Do you know how many millions of our dollars are put in those prisons? Why do criminals deserve "the best" when there are homeless people out there who have committed no crimes that don't get food or shelter at all?

Because the butter contains monolicolic acid with over time can erode metal. It has been proved in many studies that ..........I am Just Kidding gotcha
