You don't buy them, you make them out of paper! You've probably made one before but didn't know that's what it's called.
It's folded paper that you write colors, numbers and fortunes on and ask your friends to pick one.
Here's a link to the instructions.

A cootie catcher is an origami device used in fortune-telling games by children. A player asks a question, and the holder of the device answers using a regular algorithm like the examples below. The fortunes written inside can be anything, but what they are determines what questions a player can ask.
There are two positions that the device should be held - switching positions is used to mean opening it into the other position. The following is one description of how to use it:
To use it, a player first asks a question to the person holding the cootie catcher. Then the holder asks for a number and a color. Switch positions of the cootie catcher that number of times, and one time for every letter of the color. Then the holder chooses the flap that is the color that the player chose. Read the fortune inside.
There is more than one way of doing this, obviously the picture to the right can't use the color to determine which flap to choose. Here is another way:
"Have a player choose a color on the cootie catcher. Open and close the Cootie Catcher one time for every letter of the color. Have a player choose a number from 1 to 10. Open and close the Cootie Catcher that number of times. The player then selects 1 of the 4 visible flaps revealed when you stop. Read the player's fortune. Remember, this is just for fun, and only you can determine your future!"
Was featured in the South Park episode 909 "Marjorine". The plot of the episode had the boys of South Park, upon witnessing the girls of the town using the item, became convinced the Cootie Catcher was a high-tech device that could actually tell the future and went to great pains to get the catcher for themselves.
Was also featured in the PBS show, Arthur, episode 23 "Bully For Binky". It was taken seriously by all of the silly animals.
Was also in the Disney show, Recess, episode 73 "Gus' Fortune." Gus finds a cootie catcher which they call a "paper fortune teller" and it causes some drama on the playground.

Haha! I could not for the life of me figure out what a cootie catcher was until I looked at the link. Those are a really cute idea. I think they would be fine as favors. If you wanted to add some else little and cheap, do little bags of candy. Good luck to you!
