I am a huge fan of the group. But I wonder, why are their songs full of the "positivities"? They could have made a song that is full of the profanity and miseries of the life. Those usually sell well.

I admit such a "positivity" songs are not that common.

Do you know why?

Or do you know where their positivity come from?

I always thought 'Blister' from the CD clarity was not exactly upbeat in lyrics.

I'm going to guess that Jimmy Eat World focuses on positivity in their songs so that they can be kid- and teen-friendly, and so parents will go out and allow their kids to buy their CDs as opposed to one by a more negative, misery-based band. Also, I think that maybe Jimmy Eat World, like Bowling For Soup or other soft-core garage bands of that genre, like to think of themselves as a good-times, party kind of band, kind of like the Beach Boys for our generation. They write songs happy people can bop around to and they leave the gritty stuff for bands like Blue October.
