I had a mc in the beginning of October and took a pg test on Oct. 9th and it came out positive so now how do I know when I conceived.....

The reason I do not know is because I never got a period after my mc to my new conception. I am pretty sure the test is accurate because I have many symptoms of pregnancy to go along with the + test.

First, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I don't really think it's possible for you to get pregnant so soon after a miscarriage. Your body needs to run through a menstrual cycle plus 14 days in order to conceive. It is possible that your body still has high traces of hCG in it, which is what home preg. tests look for. The level of hCG begins to gradually drop after the pregnancy tissue is removed, but is still present until you get your next normal period. It usually takes a month to get back to your normal menstrual cycle. I would recommend taking another test and seeking further medical attention to be on the safe side.

On another note, if you are not pregnant, most doctors suggest waiting 3-6 months before trying to conceive again. The reason being that your body needs time to recover from it's loss and to replenish lost nutrients. BUT, if you were only in weeks 5-6, it isn't likely that your body needs that long to replenish or recover. You can start trying again after your next normal period. You should definitely talk to your doctor about that.

EDIT: Ok, I just read your edit. It seems that there is a possibility that you could be pregnant. In that case, Congrats! In any case, since you never got your period it is impossible to tell when you may have ovulated. Your body would be and still is out of wack from your previous pregnancy. The only way to know for sure is to wait for an ultrasound. Your and your doctors guesstimate will be just that, a guess. I guess just go with 1-2 weeks.

more than likely the test is positive because of the previous pregnancy. But maybe not, my pregnancy tests always showed positive about 10 days after conception. You also may not have actually miscarried or you may have been carrying twins and only miscarried one. It happens. I am not into going to OB's but in this case you should get an ultrasound to see what's going on. Miscarrying and conceiving at the same time is highly unlikely.

But as for your question of how do you know when you conceived...you don't ! Most people will never know. You can conveice up to five days after you have sex and within 24 hours of ovulation, so unless you know for sure when you ovulated then you can't actually know when you conceived.

An ultrasound will tell you for sure. In normal circumstances you would basically add 14 days from the first day of your last menstrual period and that would be the day you ovulated (but in actaullity it can vary dramtically per person).

Good luck!

ADDED:
For clarification, yes you are only actually 2 weeks when they say you are 4. Going by the first day of your LMP makes calculation easier. So people are due at 38 weeks gestation and 40 weeks pregnant.

are you aware while you ovulated? If you consider how lengthy each and every of your cycles had been then you'll be able to determine it out. No subject how lengthy your cycle is you continuously ovulate 14 days earlier than (now not after) the primary day of your interval. So in the event you had an overly consistent cycle, that means if it was once continuously the equal period then you should not have any main issue figuring it out, if now not simply arise with an common quantity and do it that manner, this would possibly not be totally correct despite the fact that. Once you discover out while you conceived, or while you ovulated, then upload 38 weeks to it and that is your due date. But all that's simply assuming that you are going to provide beginning at forty weeks, each and every youngster is unique in the case of while they're able to return out, that is why medical professionals can most effective provide you an estimate.

I am not sure! I am confused as well. I mean I kinda understand. So if you get pregnant 2 weeks AFTER your LMP then you miss your next MP so technically arent you only 2week's? I know you are pregnant for 9 month's (@ 30 day's) and 10 month's (for 28 day calendar month's!) Good luck. I think afew ppl gave GOOD advise!

*Try yourdays.com and type in your LMP!

*And you CAN test 7-10 day's past Ovulation (DPO) or up to 2-5 day's BEFORE you MISSED period. (do you remember what day YOU MAY have been fertile? (wettest day of your cycle, that would be when you concieved)

Only your doctor can tell you that by using an ultrasound. I miscarried in December of last year and was pregnant again by March of this year. I thought I knew exactly when I was ovulating but because of the miscarriage, my body was still a bit funky and with an ultrasound I found out the I had actually ovulated two weeks later than I had thought.

The way doctors count weeks is from the first day of your last menstral cycle. For example, my first day was August 5. I am currently 10 weeks. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow (Saturday). If you look at a calander and count you will see starting from August 5 ( a saturaday) I will be 11 weeks. Hope this helps.

You may just be showing + due to the previous pregnancy. I really don't see how an HPT would show + just 9 days of being pregnant.

you go to the doctors and they take blood work to measure your hormone levels. Theres no way to know the exact day. Everyone ovulates different, and sometimes not on a cycle.

The doctor should be able to tell you how far along you are because they measure the baby through ultrasound.
